The nail-biting 11-inning contest that saw the Los Angeles Dodgers defeat the Blue Jays 5-4 averaged a combined 51M spectators across the US, Canada, and Japan territories. MLB stated this represents the highest-rated World Series Game 7 since the 1991 showdown between the Minnesota Twins and Braves.

The Saturday epic contest averaged 27.33M viewers on Fox networks, its Spanish-language channel and their streaming platforms. According to ratings data, it was the second most-watched program of the week.

It additionally stands as the most-watched Fall Classic matchup since the 2017 Game 7 involving the Los Angeles Dodgers and Astros, which drew over 29 million. This marks a sixteen percent improvement over the previous finale between the Nationals and Astros, which drew 23.19 million viewers.

In the weekly rankings, the sixth game placed 4th, Game 4 ranked seventh, Game 5 was 8th, and the third game finished in thirteenth position.

Global Audience Figures

In Canada, the climactic game drew 11.6 million watchers on Sportsnet and the French-language TVA Sports. This made it the highest-rated English program in the country after the 2010 edition Vancouver Winter Olympics.

In the Japanese market, where the deciding contest started at 9 p.m. local time, it attracted 12M. This came after the previous Friday’s sixth game – in which Fall Classic MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto allowed a single run in six frames – recorded 13.1 million spectators, making it the highest-rated World Series matchup on a single network in Japan.

Overall Averages and Patterns
